Lamar Odom dropped from Dallas Mavericks

khloe-lamar-odem-gi.jpg"Khloe and Lamar" star Lamar Odom is officially off the Dallas Mavericks roster, reports ESPN, but he'll still be suiting up to play basketball on Saturday -- for the team's D-League affiliate, the Texas Legends.

Legends owner Donnie Nelson says it was Odom's idea to play with the Legends.

His last game with the Mavericks was Feb. 20, as he missed the team's Feb. 22 game against his former team, the LA Lakers, to tend to his sick father. He was expected to rejoin the Mavericks after the All-Star break.

According to TMZ, he still gets to keep his $8.9 million salary -- not too shabby considering it's been his worst season since joining the NBA.

Update:
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban tells TMZ that Odom will be back on the team after a brief stint with the Legends.

"[Lamar] is doing great. D-League is rehab. [He] needs to get in great shape and then rejoin the Mavs," Cuban says. "Know how baseball teams send a guy down to the minor leagues to get some games in a get timing back? Same thing. Things are going great. He is working super hard. All is good."
