Lea Thompson goes 'Greek' as Cappie's mom

leathompson_290.jpg"Greek" fans, we have some kind of wonderful news for you: You'll be meeting Cappie's mother soon, and she's going to look a lot like Lea Thompson.

Thompson will guest-star in an episode of the show's winter run, ABC Family confirms. Jim Abele ("24," "Angel") has also been cast as Cappie's (Scott Michael Foster) dad.

The 'rents will make quite the impression Casey (Spencer Grammer), as they're still committed to the free-spirited lifestyle. The episode featuring Thompson and Abele will air in the back half of "Greek's" midseason order, which begins Jan. 25 and lasts 10 weeks.

Thompson has recently starred in the Hallmark Channel's series of "Jane Doe" movies and has also worked on several feature films in the past couple of years. "Greek" will be her first TV series appearance, however, since she guested on "Law & Order: SVU" in 2004.

And, fun fact: She and Abele have worked together before. He guest-starred on an episode of "Caroline and the City" in 1997.
