LeAnn Rimes denies being drunk during 'The X Factor' performance

LeAnn Rimes is getting some major backlash for her bizarre duet with "The X Factor" contestant Carly Rose Sonenclar, leading some to believe that she was drunk on the show. The wife of Eddie Cibrian was quick to deny those allegations, claiming that she was actually singing the strange way she did to help the 13-year-old contestant.

"I was trying to help this 13-year-old girl who was having some trouble with the song," she tells TMZ, adding that she was in no way impaired. Her lawyer Larry Stein adds, "LeAnn was not performing the way she would normally perform, because she was on stage with a young girl."

Regardless of whether she had been drinking prior to the performance, it's clear that something was definitely off. At some points it even looks like Rimes is trying to upstage Sonenclar, which is insane considering the 13-year-old is the one competing on the show. The look on Sonenclar's face after Rimes started singing is priceless, though she quickly catches herself in front of the camera.
