"The Lone Ranger" rides into theaters July 3, and Walt Disney Pictures is stepping up their promotional efforts in the months leading up to release. Monday, the company debuted two new character posters for the stars of the film.

The first features Armie Hammer in the title role of the Lone Ranger, and the second sees Johnny Depp as his sidekick, Tonto. The trailer released in February finds the Lone Ranger assumed dead. Along with Tonto, the Ranger rides under a mask as a Western hero.

During an appearance on "The Late Show," Depp shared a story with host David Letterman about nearly dying during a stunt he filmed for the movie. Depp says he fell off his horse and was nearly trampled. "I figured that fear would kick in, but it didn't," he said of the incident.
