'Mad Men' filming halted after LAX shooting

jon-hamm-jessica-pare-hawaii-S6-mad-men.jpgLocation filming for "Mad Men" at Los Angeles International Airport was stopped Friday (Nov. 1) after the fatal shooting of a TSA agent at the airport.

The AMC drama was filming at Terminal 4 of LAX when cast and crew members were told to move to a far end of the arrivals tunnel for their safety. The shooting at 9:20 a.m. PT Friday killed one TSA agent and wounded three other people; a suspect was shot by airport police and is in custody. The shooting took place in the adjacent Terminal 3.

Information about "Mad Men" came via tweets (since deleted) from Dustin Woods, a grip on the show who shared his account from the scene. TV Guide magazine writer Michael Schneider posted the information from Woods on his personal blog.

AMC confirmed the show was filming at the airport but offered no other details. Among the thousands of people stranded at the airport in the wake of the incident were James Franco, members of the "Mythbusters" cast, Nick Jonas and former "Private Practice" star Tim Daly, who offered an eyewitness account to the L.A. NBC affiliate during the day.
