'Mad Men' ratings up a little, Paula Abdul opens 'Got to Dance' auditions

Ratings for Sunday's (July 25) season premiere of "Mad Men" improved slightly on the show's debut numbers from last year. The show drew a record high of 2.9 million viewers, up from 2.8 million last summer. [ AMC]

Former "Office" boss Melora Hardin is joining NBC's new drama "Outlaw," playing a high-powered lawyer and love interest for star Jimmy Smits. Gina Gershon played the role in the pilot. [ Deadline]

The Will Ferrell-produced Comedy Central show "Big Lake" -- which was originally supposed to star Jon Heder but now stars Chris Gethard, Horatio Sanz and Chris Parnell -- has a premiere date. It will debut Aug. 17. [ Comedy Central]

Fergie -- the British royal, not the Black-Eyed Pea -- may get a show on OWN. Oprah Winfrey has reportedly approached Sarah Ferguson about hosting a series on the new cable channel. [ Daily Mail]
