marvel-comics-studios-comic-con-2013.jpgMarvel has has been on the ball so far at San Diego Comic-Con 2013, making some exciting announcements during panels and even teasing the possible return of one of Marvel Comics' most iconic heroes.

Marvel Comics Senior VP of Sales David Gabriel teased attendees at a retailer lunch during Comic-Con with a slide of the Marvelman icon with the words "We have not forgotten," says Comic Book Resources. Marvelman, also known as Miracle Man in some cases, has not been seen in original material in years, but the rights are back in Marvel Comics' hands and anything is possible now.

At the same event Marvel Comics teased a follow-up to Paul Jenkins and Andy Kubert's Wolverine miniseries "Origin," new Marvel NOW! #1s that will debut in January, and a Deadpool vs. Carnage crossover series of comics.

Marvel Comics earlier this week named July "Super Spider-Month" in honor of the "Superior Spider-Man" comics and showed a clip from Disney XD's "Avengers Assembled" cartoon, according to HitFix. At the Marvel Ultimate Universe panel on Friday they announced the "Cataclysm: The Ultimates Last Stand" comics that will tie the Ultimate Universe in with the Marvel Universe, says CBR. Marvel also screened an episode of the upcoming ABC show "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." during a panel on Friday, and Zap2It spoke with Joss Whedon about the project. 

Saturday (July 20), Marvel will host their Comic-Con presentation featuring "Thor: The Dark World" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." Producer Kevin Feige and "surprise guests" are slated to attend.

Elsewhere, Vin Diesel hinted at his involvement with the Marvel universe during the "Riddick" panel in Hall H, saying that "big news" is coming at the end of the month.
