'MasterChef' finalist Josh Marks being evaluated for mental illness
"MasterChef" finalist Josh Marks acted bizarrely when he attacked police officers at the University of Chicago, claimed Gordon Ramsay possessed him and turned him into God and was subsequently arrested, and he wasn't behaving like someone who was right in the head. After it was determined that there were no drugs in Marks' system, he is being evaluated to see if he suffers from a mental illness.
"We are working closely with medical professionals to determine if Josh's behavior could be related to mental health symptoms," Marks' attorney Lisa Marie Butler tells TMZ. "The Josh that you are hearing about in police reports this morning is not the spirited Gentle Giant that we know."
It is believed that the 26-year-old could suffer from bipolar disorder, which explains why his behavior was so erratic. TMZ says Marks remains chained to a hospital bed following his arrest. He's looking at 14 years in prison if convicted of aggravated battery on a police officer and attempting to disarm a police officer.
