Maura Tierney returns to TV, Seth Gabel takes 'Fringe'

Tierney is set to reprise her guest role on "Rescue Me" during the show's final run, FX confirms to Zap2it. The series is filming its final two seasons back-to-back, and Tierney -- who guested last year as Tommy's (Denis Leary) love interest, Kelly -- is working on shows that will air in Season 7, which will likely debut in 2011. She's set to appear in multiple episodes.

"Rescue Me" is the first TV work Tierney has done since her cancer treatment forced her to drop out of NBC's "Parenthood" last summer. The show recast her role with Lauren Graham.

Season 6 of "Rescue Me" will debut in the summer.

- "Fringe" has booked former "Dirty Sexy Money" star Seth Gabel for a key role in its final episodes of the season.

Gabel will play a fringe-cases agent not unlike Olivia (Anna Torv) in the last two episodes of the spring, sources confirm to Zap2it. Here's the catch, though -- he'll be doing his job from the alternate reality "Fringe" has visited several times. A good portion of the season finale will take place in the alt-world.

For now Gabel is just doing these two episodes, but there's a chance he could return next season as well.

The final "Fringe" episodes of the season are scheduled for May 13 and 20. Gabel will also have a recurring part on Showtime's "United States of Tara" later this season.
