Meredith Vieira may get her own daytime talk show

The show will film a pilot episode with an eye toward launching in fall 2014, Deadline reports. She had been in talks with NBCU's syndication division since she left "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in January.

Vieira has been a daytime TV regular for more than 15 years between her various jobs, so name recognition certainly wouldn't be an issue in selling a talk show. Early indications are that she wants to do a light, entertainment-driven show a la Ellen DeGeneres.

Vieira left "Today" in 2011 in part to spend more time with her husband, who has multiple sclerosis. Hosting a pre-taped daytime show would mean a smaller time commitment than that of a live morning-news program.

What do you think? Would you watch Vieira as a daytime host?
