After admitting that he was fired from "The Young and the Restless," actor Michael Muhney says he may be at fault. The former "Veronica Mars" star sat down with HuffPo Canada for an interview over his dismissal, shouldering the blame for his actions.

"Part of me feels this is because I've always been outspoken, and sometimes I've been too outspoken," he says. "Sometimes I've walked around with a big backpack full of hubris. That is entirely on me."

While he doesn't know if that's the reason for his dismissal, Muhey says that he has to "own that," regardless. He also reveals that his character will not die. He continues, "It was explained to me that CBS and Sony want to give Adam a break for three to six months, and then they'll bring him back with a different actor."

He's also not sure whether or not his behind-the-scenes relationship with "Young and the Restless" veteran Eric Braeden, who plays his character's father, had a role in the firing. The two have shared some unkind words back and forth on Twitter during Muhney's stint on the series. "If there were disagreements in the past with Eric, for me, it has to be history," Muhney says.

For his part, Braeden addressed the firing on Twitter, claiming he had nothing to do with it but was looking to move forward with the show.

Muhney's last day of filming on the series is Thursday (Dec. 19), with his final episode airing Jan. 30.
