Miley Cyrus is connected with many bizarre trends, from twerking to those strange animal onesies. This is one thing she might not have expected, though. Students at Grand Valley State University are getting naked to ride a wrecking ball statue at the Michigan school, mimicking her "Wrecking Ball" music video.

It's gotten to the point that the school has removed the wrecking ball to keep the students off of it. The official reason comes from Associate Vice President for Facilities Services Tim Thimmesch, who says in a statement, "We are reassessing the safety and structural integrity of the current installation and site," according to the Detroit Free Press. He says the discussion about removing the wrecking ball was going on before the nude students started having their fun. Before that, clothed students rode the ball.

The school's students are upset about the removal. Many gathered at the former site of the wrecking ball Tuesday night (September 17) to protest the decision. They feel the statue is a landmark on the campus and removing it goes too far. There is no work on where, or when, the wrecking ball will reappear.
