'Miley Cyrus Unplugged': Miley Cyrus calls herself the '2013 version' of Madonna

It was supposed to be a surprise, but thanks to overeager fans, the secret is out: Madonna is joining Miley Cyrus for her sure-to-be exciting special, "Miley Cyrus Unplugged."

Cyrus still can't believe her icon is joining her onstage. "I wanted someone to be here that wasn't the obvious, someone that people wouldn't really expect," Cyrus tells MTV News. "Even I didn't expect Madonna to necessarily be down to do something like 'Unplugged' with me."

Despite the age gap between the two performers, Cyrus thinks they share the same message with their fans and can't wait to join forces for the special. "A lot of what she represented for me is what I try to represent to girls now," Cyrus says. "Not being afraid of sexuality and really being who you want to be and doing what you want to do."

Cyrus and Madonna will perform a mashup of "We Can't Stop" and "Don't Tell Me" during the concert. "'We Can't Stop' is kind of like the 2013 version of 'Don't Tell Me,'" Cyrus says.
