Miranda Lambert: 'There was just this draw' to then-married Blake Shelton

lambert-shelton-getty.jpgCountry music spitfire Miranda Lambert knew that Blake Shelton was married when they first met. But she couldn't deny the attraction between the two.

On "Dateline" Monday (Aug. 29), Lambert, 27, tells Hoda Kotb, "It was just this draw to each other ... I had seen their (Shelton and his wife Kaynette) wedding picture in 'Country Weekly.' I knew better, like this is off-limits. Because my parents are private investigators, for God's sakes. I've seen this my whole life, affairs. And I'm like, 'If all people didn't know better, I know better than this.'

Lambert first encountered Shelton, 35, a country singer and judge on NBC's "The Voice," while they performed at CMT's 100 Greatest Duets Concert in 2006.

She continues, "It was like my first duet with some other country star. And I didn't know if it was just initial butterflies because of that or, I don't know what it was."

Shelton divorced his first wife in 2006, the same year he began dating Lambert. The couple married in May 2011.
