Missy Franklin gets Justin Bieber well-wishes on Twitter

missy-franklin-american-flag-summer-olympics.jpgShe may be one of the fastest female swimmers in the world, but Missy Franklin is still a 17-year-old girl. And one of her favorite music artists is, naturally, none other than Justin Bieber. (We don't judge -- we only retired our NKOTB poster a couple years ago.)

So when Bieber got wind of his famous fan, he was quick to send her a message on Twitter: "heard @FranklinMissy is a fan of mine. now im a fan of hers too. CONGRATS on winning GOLD! #muchlove."

Missy had a response that we imagine is a lot like what we would have said, had Joey McIntyre sent us a letter (it was 1990, there was no Twitter): "I just died! Thankyou"

She also got some cheers from "American Idol" winner Scott McCreery, "We're rooting for you @franklinmissy! Keep it up! #USA."

Franklin has raced in two finals events, winning an individual gold and a relay bronze. She has qualified for five more events and if she makes the finals in all five, she'll become the first female U.S. swimmer to swim in seven event finals in one Olympics.
