'Modern Family' negotiations done: Season 4 to proceed as scheduled

modern-family-season-3-finale.jpgThe "Modern Family" cast members have resolved their contract dispute with the studio that produces the show. Actors Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson have settled on a salary for the next 4 seasons of the ABC comedy series, and, as part of the agreement, have dropped their lawsuit against 20th Century Fox Television.

The cast will return to work on Monday, when principal photography will proceed as scheduled. Season 4, which is set to begin Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 9:00 p.m., will not be delayed.

Early on Friday, ABC's President of Entertainment Paul Lee was hesitant to discuss the "Modern Family" negotiations, saying only that he was "hopeful" and "optimistic" that the dispute would be resolved in a timely manner.

The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, but it's assumed that the cast received large raises over their previous $65,000 per episode salary, as well as a portion of the show's back-end profits.
