Deadline is reporting that Izzard will play the role of Grandpa, an ancient vampire who can shapeshift. The pilot is written Bryan Fuller and will be directed by Bryan Singer.

The publication is also reporting that the show, about family of monsters, will feature a visual style similar to the short-lived series "Pushing Daisies." The project is being produced by Universal TV.

Izzard, a long-time comic, has starred in numerous TV series including "United States of Tara" and "The Riches."
