'Nashville' Season 2 casts Oliver Hudson as Rayna's new boss ... and love interest?

Sorry Deacon: after your drunken antics caused a car accident for you and Rayna on the "Nashville" Season 1 finale, it looks like you killed any chance of romantic reconciliation.

The ABC southern soap just cast Oliver Hudson in a big role for Season 2, and it doesn't mean good things for fans shipping Rayna and Deacon.

Hudson will play the role of Jeff, Rayna's music label's new top exec, TVLine reports. He is described as very good looking and incredibly charming, and after Rayna's near-death experience (we will find out in the premiere that she almost died in the finale's car crash) causes her album sales to soar in the months after, Jeff is very pleased with the country star's success. So pleased, in fact, that he's going to be her new love interest!

That's right, these two crazy kids are going to be mixing business with pleasure. Jeff is going to shake things up on "Nashville" for sure, but there's no word yet on how Deacon will handle this new competition for Rayna's heart ... or if he'll even want to, now that he knows she never told him he was the biological father of her eldest daughter.

Hudson joins the expanding "Nashville" Season 2 cast of newcomer Chaley Rose -- who will play Scarlett's childhood friend -- and the promoted Chris Carmack and Lennon and Maisy Stella.

"Nashville" Season 2 premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 25, on ABC.
