NBC gets its own Jerry Bruckheimer show

jerrybruckheimer_290.jpgNBC is getting back into the Jerry Bruckheimer business, and hoping that this effort will work better than the last one.

The network has given a pilot order to a show from the "CSI" producer about a police unit that tracks down fugitives, the showbiz trades report. Jennifer Johnson, a writer and executive producer on the Bruckheimer-produced "Cold Case," will write the script and exec produce with Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman.

NBC's only previous collaboration with Bruckheimer was an ill-fated one: The 2005 military drama "E-Ring" lasted only 14 episodes. The bulk of Jerry Bruckheimer TV's projects are at CBS -- "The Amazing Race," all three "CSIs" and "Cold Case," plus the new midseason show "Miami Trauma" -- and it also makes TNT's "Dark Blue" and the new ABC series "The Forgotten."

Johnson has also worked on "Lost" and "Reunion."
