Nick Offerman is the best part of the '22 Jump Street' red band trailer
The awesome remake of "21 Jump Street" starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill was one of the best surprises of 2012. Now the first trailer for the sequel, "22 Jump Street," has arrived, and it promises to the up the ante on the first movie's insanity.
The above red band trailer opens with an excellent speech from Deputy Chief Hardy, the character played by "Parks and Recreation" star Nick Offerman. "Ladies, no one gave a s*** about the Jump Street reboot, but you got lucky," he deadpans to Tatum's Jenko and Hill's Schmidt. "So now this department has invested a lot of money to make sure Jump Street keeps going."
So why is this now "22 Jump Street"? Hardy explains, "The only problem [with continuing 21 Jump Street] is the Koreans bought the church back, so we're moving you across the road to 22 Jump Street."
Yes. Yes yes yes yes. This trailer shows that everything that made "21 Jump Street" so fantastic and funny is still here in this second outing. Special props go out to "Workaholics'" Jillian Bell and "NTSF:SD:SUV's" Rob Riggle for having similarly hilarious breakout moments in this trailer. Consider us stoked for this movie to premiere on June 13, 2014.
