Nicki Minaj's 'American Idol' outfit causes controversy: Was it too low-cut?

There are some things you miss by sitting in the audience at "American Idol." In the case of Nicki Minaj's "Idol" outfit this past Wednesday (April 17), that may not have been a bad thing. The judge's breast-revealing, high-cut, red dress set Twitter abuzz.

While Minaj is not exactly known for a conservative look or personality, it seems that this latest dress took things a little too far for some viewers. Her dress was short. Her dress was tight. Her dress had a large square cut right out of the front to better emphasize her cleavage.
People noticed. Here is an example of the commentary on Twitter:

@GetAClueTV -- "Nicki Minaj's cleavage is PRECARIOUS tonight yo. #idol"

Nicki's dress wasn't the only notable part of the night of the "Idol" Top 5 performances. For one thing, Minaj and her fellow judge, Mariah Carey, actually spoke to each other during their criticisms of the singers. The two women weren't always civil -- at one point, during the critique of Kree Harrison, Minaj told Carey to "simmer down."

But we expect this kind of tension between the two women on the Season 12 judges' panel. Blatant displays of breasts, on the other hand, get noticed.
