Occupy day of action called for across the country

occupy-day-of-action.jpgTwo days after police evicted hundreds of Occupy Wall Street protestors from Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan, 300 people have gathered near the park as part of a planned nationwide day of action protest on Thursday (Nov. 17), reports the AP. This mass day of action marks two months since the Occupy protests began.

The protestors are across the street from Zuccotti Park and plan to march to Wall Street. Police are on hand with megaphones, ordering the protestors to stay on the sidewalk as they march to the New York Stock Exchange.

On the Occupy Wall Street website, there is a New York itinerary for the day that includes shut down Wall Street, occupy the subways and then take the square, referring to Foley Square, which is outside City Hall in New York City.

The site also says: "Enough of this economy that exploits and divides us. It's time we put an end to Wall Street's reign of terror and begin building an economy that works for all."
