Olympian Lolo Jones to ask Tim Tebow out, she jokes on 'The Tonight Show'
Lolo Jones is a hurdler who was poised for gold at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, but a late stumble in the race cost her a medal. Now she has qualified for the 2012 London games, but she tells Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" that she had a bit of a meltdown at the Olympic trials before she qualified for London.
Jones relays a story of running a slow (for her) time in first heat and wanting to shake her coach and demanding of him, "Why are you lying to me? Can I make this team?" She also says of her support system, "I have my pastor on speed dial 1, my sports psychologist on speed dial 2, my mom on speed dial 3."
Speaking of her mom, Leno asks about her upbringing, living in poverty in Des Moines.
"My mom was a single mom, my dad was in and out of jail. She was just trying to provide for five kids ... homeless at one pont, living on government food stamps ... a Lifetime movie, I'm sure down the road for me. Rashida Jones will surely play the current Lolo version. It just never seemed like there was enough," says Jones. (Also, it is kind of stunning how much she and Rashida Jones look alike, right?)
In the second part of the interview, she talks about her now-infamous tweet about still being a virgin and how hard it's been to find a man.
"I'm pretty sure I'm going to invite [Tim] Tebow to go to church," Jones laughs.
And then the other "Tonight Show" guest, Louis C.K., jokes about their sex tape.
