Olympics 2010: Meet Lindsey Vonn, alpine skiing

lindsey-vonn-olympics-320.jpgLindsey Vonn's last Olympics was a memorable one ... but not for winning the gold.

The 25-year-old skier has won back-to-back overall World Cup championships and is the most successful American woman skier in World Cup history.

She was in skis as early as age two, and as you can see from this video below, she'll likely still be skiing when she's 92.

In the 2006 Winter Olympics accident, Vonn had to be evacuated by helicopter, where she was hospitalized. She emerged with just a bruised hip and competed the following day. Her tenacity earned her U.S. Olympic Spirit Award that year.

The opening ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver will air Friday, Feb. 12 on NBC.
