Oscars 2011: PS 22 chorus sings 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow'; Take that, 'Glee'

ps22-oscars-gi.jpgSome very lucky (and talented) fifth graders got the opportunity of a lifetime after Anne Hathaway and Oscars producer Bruce Cohen invited the Staten Island Public School 22 choir to come perform at the 83rd Academy Awards.

The kids have gained notoriety through a series of YouTube videos in which they cover songs including Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" among countless others.

The pint-sized chorus took the stage to close out Sunday night's (Feb. 27) show and wowed the crowd with the classic "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Donning brightly colored "PS 22" tee-shirts, the kids were joined on-stage by all the night's winners.

We'll add video as soon as it's available, but in the meantime check out their version of "Don't Stop Believing." We'll even throw in "Glee's" take on the classic tune. How do the little ones stack up to the professionals?
