'Parks and Recreation': Ben and Leslie's life-changing decision

parks-recreation-ben-leslie-halloween-surprise.jpgThere was quite the drama on "Parks and Recreation" Thursday night (Oct. 25). Don't keep reading if you haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Ben and Leslie are engaged! In a masterful episode, the show had Ben and Jen celebrating their win for the congressman in Washington D.C. and then jet-setting off to Florida, where a potential gubernatorial candidate was waiting for them to run his campaign.

It was a great fake-out, because Ben was clearly in his element talking to the potential candidate and Jen's pep talk about how good he is as a campaign manager was one of the only genuine moments we've seen from her as a character. It really felt like he was going to break Leslie's heart and take the job.

But no! He surprised her with an engagement ring in their new house, in a lovely TV engagement that was still very distinctly "Parks and Rec." Bravo, show.

In other news, Ron can't quite figure out how to navigate Diane's kids, which is delightful. It's nice to see him like someone so much that he's willing to try with the little girls, even if he has absolutely no idea what he's doing.

And Jerry had a heart (fart) attack, which gave us the line of the night -- "Leslie, you can't actually plan your future. There's no guarantees in this world. As long as the people I love are a part of my life, I will be just fine."

Well said, Jerry.

We're interviewing Amy Poehler, Adam Scott and creator Michael Schur tomorrow about this episode, so leave your burning questions for them in the comments. And let us know what you thought of the episode.
