'Parks and Rec's' Aziz Ansari to host 2010 MTV Movie Awards

twilight-aziz-ansari-320.jpg"Parks and Recreation" comedian Aziz Ansari is the likely 2010 MTV Movie Awards host.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Aziz Ansari is finalizing a deal about hosting the awards show, which airs June 6 on MTV.

Coincidentally, that's the same week Ansari's comedy "Get Him to the Greek" hits theaters. "Greek" also stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand.

The awards show and the movie premiere are just the beginning of Ansari's busy year, as "Parks and Rec" has been picked up for a third season on NBC and his stand-up comedy tour also kicks off this summer.

The MTV Movie Awards nominations have yet to be announced but as "Twilight" was all over the 2009 awards, expect to see "New Moon" all over 2010. Maybe that's why Ansari has recently live-tweeted his thoughts on "Twilight" and "New Moon":

  • "Decided to watch Twilight today. Will live tweet my thoughts."
  • "Doesn't the 6 pack kid turn into wolf in New Moon? Hard to believe a person that turns into wolf is into Twizzlers."
  • "Still don't get it. The tribe descended from wolves? At one point, they evolved from wolfs... into Native American people?"
  • "Whoa, do the Asian people turn into Dragons or anything? What other ethnicity turns into animals/creatures??? #TwilightAziz"
