Patton Oswalt just landed one fun gig: he'll be hosting the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

The 29th annual awards show is slated to take place on March 1 on Santa Monica, Calif. Previous hosts include fellow comedians Andy Samberg and Seth Rogen.

Though Oswalt has dabbled in film with increasing frequency (his newest project is Ben Stiller's "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty"), he is best known for his television roles. From tonight's guest appearance on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" to his work as the narrator on "The Goldbergs," Oswalt's is a face that is a regular part of our television landscape.

"Patton is an incredibly talented writer, actor and comedian whose irreverent humor is the perfect fit for our show," Spirit Awards executive producer Diana Zahn-Storey says in a statement.

Spirit Awards nominations will be announced on Nov. 26. Do you think Oswalt will make a good host?
