'Paul Reiser Show' debuts on NBC in April; so long, 'Perfect Couples'
It's taking the place of "Perfect Couples," which has had a rough go in the ratings since its January launch (or, really, before its January launch: A preview episode that aired after "The Sing-Off" in December also fizzled).
"The Paul Reiser Show" is a sort of mild-mannered "Curb Your Enthusiasm," with the former "Mad About You" star playing a version of himself as a husband and father. It also stars Amy Landecker ("A Serious Man") as his wife and Ben Shenkman ("Angels in America"), Duane Martin ("All of Us"), Andrew Daly ("Eastbound & Down") and Omid Djalili ("Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End") as his buddies/fathers of his kids' classmates.
Reiser and Jonathan Shapiro ("Life," "Boston Legal") co-wrote all six episodes set to air on NBC.
There's still no word on whether the other Forgotten Shows, "Love Bites" and "Friends With Benefits," will air. They weren't part of the summer schedule NBC announced on Monday.
