Talk about a Blue Light Special! A Seattle Kmart got a very special delivery Monday, when a staff member dialed 911 to report the arrival of a 10 pound box of Marijuana to the store's stockroom.
The Huffington Post reports the weed was wrapped in garbage bags, and covered with packing peanuts. It was also surrounded by Korean-language newspapers soaked in cleaning fluid to disguise the smell.
According to Jonah Spagenthal-Lee, a spokesman with the Seattle police, "Delivery information on the package indicates it was originally shipped from Los Angeles to a Philadelphia address, but never made it to its intended destination in Philly." How did it end up in Seattle, you ask? "Whoever sent the package listed the address of the Seattle Kmart on the return label, for some reason," he says. The obvious reason would be to keep it from being tracked to the sender.
The real question is why did the employee call the cops in the first place? The state of Washington legalized the recreational use of Marijuana in the November elections, allowing for the taxation and sale of pot to adults 21-years-old and up. That's a good and honest employee.
