President Obama weighs in on Nicki Minaj-Mariah Carey 'American Idol' feud

president-obama-american-idol-feud.jpgFinally the Presidential candidates are talking about the world's conflicts that really matter, like the recent, possibly for publicity feud between new "American Idol" judges Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey. President Obama has weighed in on the diva fight, and naturally he has a very diplomatic answer.

Obama called into the radio program "The Yo Show," and host Michael Yo asked the President about the ever-important news, the AP reports.

"Can you repair the relationship with Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj on 'American Idol'? That's what people want to know," Yo asks the Commander in Chief.

Instead of laughing off such a ridiculous question, Obama deigns to answer. "I think that they are going to be able to sort it out. I am confident," Obama says. "I'm all about bringing people together, working for the same cause. I think both outstanding artists are going to be able to make sure that they're moving forward and not going backwards."

What a good sport. Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney will face off in a town hall-style debate on Tuesday, Oct. 16, though surely the 100 undecided voters will want to tackle more important issues than a pop culture fight.

What do you think of Obama's comments?
