Diane Farr, an actress known for her roles on "Numb3rs" and "Rescue Me," has been cast on "Private Practice." Farr will recur over several episodes in the show's final season.

The actress will play the role of Miranda and will first appear in the Dec. 11 episode. While no details about this character have been revealed, this first episode focuses mainly on Dr. Sheldon Wallace ( Brian Benben). Could Miranda be a love interest for the psychiatrist?

Farr's character will also appear in the "Private Practice" series finale, indicating that if she is a love interest, someone just might get a happily ever after. It has to happen sooner or later on a Shonda Rhimes series, right?

Since her run on "Numb3rs," Diane Farr has had guest and recurring roles on several television shows, including "Californication," "Grey's Anatomy," "The Secret Life of the American Teenager," "Desperate Housewives" and "White Collar."

"Private Practice" will complete its six-year run  on ABC this season with episode 13, expected to air early in the new year.
