Randy Travis has been released from the hospital almost a month after entering with heart problems, followed by a stroke. The country singer will now transfer to a rehabilitation center to continue his recovery.

A publicist for Travis announced on Wednesday (July 31) that the singer had left the Baylor Heart Hospital of Plano, Texas. The next step in Travis' recovery will happen at an unspecified rehabilitation center in the area. Although no details of Randy Travis' exact condition have been made public, it's likely that his July 10 stroke left some impairment.

After first being hospitalized with viral cardiomyopathy on July 7, the 54-year-old country singer's condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to further surgery and the stroke. Since July 15, however, reports from the hospital indicate that Travis has been awake and responsive. News of the discharge indicates that his condition has improved during this time.

"Thanks to all the fans and friends for your continued prayers and support as Randy continues on the road to recovery," said Mary Davis, Travis' fiancee, in a statement on Wednesday.
