'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills': What is Adrienne Maloof's 'family secret'? Did Brandi Glanville 'go too far'?
Brandi revealed a secret so incendiary that even Bravo had to edit it out of their own show -- presumably fearful of being "slapped with a fat lawsuit" by Adrienne and her now ex-husband, Paul Nassif.
Nasty allegations about domestic violence and child abuse (which the authorities deemed unfounded) dogged the power couple's acrimonious split this year, but the Interwebs suggest Brandi's bombshell specifically concerns their children.
According to the tabloid Wetpaint, Brandi claims that Adrienne used a surrogate instead of giving birth to her three sons naturally.
It's not a shocking revelation -- castmate Camille Grammer makes no secret of the fact that she used a surrogate herself. Plus, greater risks are associated with pregnancy over age 40. (Adrienne is now 51 and has a 9-year-old and 6-year-old twins.)
If true, however, that would mean Adrienne lied when she claimed in the last episode that she had Cesarean sections, with her husband by her side during labor. (An awkward dinner-table conversation started by Brandi herself, it should be noted -- maybe an underhanded swipe after their argument?)
In this week's episode, aptly titled "She's Gone Too Far," Adrienne wasn't present at the table (an appetizer tasting at Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant Sur) to deflect Brandi's blow. After recounting what Brandi characterized as an intimidation campaign by the Maloof-Nassifs, she revealed Adrienne's "annoying" lie. Bravo cut straight from her preamble to the shocked Housewives, not even giving viewers a chance to try to read Brandi's lips.
Naturally, at a
Could her parting shot -- that Brandi is a "drug addict" -- give the unfiltered Housewife ammunition for her own lawsuit?
What do you think Adrienne's big secret is? And did Brandi have any right to reveal it with the Bravo cameras rolling?
"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" airs Monday nights at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
