Ricky Gervais passes Golden Globes torch to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

There's no ill will between Ricky Gervais -- who hosted the Golden Globes for the past three years -- and new hostesses Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. It was announced Monday (Oct. 15) that the two comedy dream girls will co-host the upcoming 2013 ceremony together, and Gervais has given them his blessing.

"Good luck to Tina Fey and Amy Poehler at the Golden Globes," the British comedian tells Entertainment Weekly. "After failing three years in a row to make E! Channel's Best Dressed list, I decided to hand over the reins. Let me know if you run out of Scientology gags."

While Gervais was host of the Golden Globes, there were no celebrities safe from his attacks. His prickly brand of humor got him in trouble with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on more than one occasion, but the organization decided to bring Gervais back three times. Earlier this year, Gervais announced he wouldn't host the Globes again.

The Golden Globes will air live on NBC on Jan. 13, 2013.
