Robbie Amell lands 'Tomorrow People' pilot; Amell family may be plotting systematic CW takeover

robbie-amell-tomorrow-people.jpgLast fall, we saw Stephen Amell's face and abs on every other billboard and bus in Los Angeles, promoting "Arrow," which would become The CW's biggest debut hit ever. This year, it could be his cousin who makes our morning commute just a little less awful.

Robbie Amell has landed the lead role in The CW's "Tomorrow People" update, from "Arrow" E.P. Greg Berlanti and "Vampire Diaries" E.P. Julie Plec.

Amell will play Stephen, a teenager who discovers that he has extrasensory powers including telepathy, telekinesis, teleportation, and the ability to pause time and operate outside of it.

The titular Tomorrow People are more highly evolved humans. When we meet Stephen, he's a teenager struggling with a possible mental illness while trying to keep his head above water with his friends, family, and general high school awfulness. When his Tomorrow People powers start breaking out, he finds himself indoctrinated into a world he didn't know existed. Naturally, he faces some very tough decisions.

We'll start scouring the Amell family tree now to see who we ought to keep an eye on for 2014. We believe they may have infiltrated the network at the highest level.
