Robert De Niro may have been a little jealous of longtime friend and collaborator Martin Scorsese when he took home best dramatic series at the Golden Globes for his "Boardwalk Empire" -- the actor is now trying his hand at TV himself.

Deadline reports that De Niro, his Tribeca productions partner Jane Rosenthal and "The Color of Money" writer Richard Price have sold a one-hour drama pilot to CBS.

Never straying too far from the subjects near and dear to him, the De Niro produced "Rookies" is about six freshman NYPD cops balancing their personal lives with the stress of their job.

If it goes to series, it will mark join "Blue Bloods" and "CSI: NY" as the third drama on CBS about New York cops.
