Ryan Seacrest joins 'The Million Second Quiz' as host and executive producer
The network and Seacrest have been in talks to have him join the show for some time, and they made it official Monday (Aug. 5). The show, which premieres Sept. 9, will run for 11 days and feature contestants playing around the clock. Viewers will be able to follow and play along online all the time and watch for an hour of primetime each night (except for Sunday, Sept. 15, when NBC has a "Sunday Night Football" telecast).
"I'm so excited to be hosting this new live game show on NBC, as it's really a fun and different format that I believe will generate lots of fans across different platforms," Seacrest says in a statement. "I'm looking forward to working with the other producers and everyone at NBC to make the show a success."
The deal means Seacrest will be hosting shows on three different broadcast networks this season. He's returning as host of "American Idol" on FOX and will front ABC's New Year's Eve special.
