SAG Awards 2011: Julianna Margulies remembers role that got her started

julianna-margulies-sag-awards-2011-gi.jpg"The Good Wife's" Julianna Margulies took home her second SAG Award Sunday (Jan. 30) night for the role of Alicia Florrick, the wife of a politician who was caught cheating on her with escorts ... among various other misdeeds.

"Last year it felt like the character was someone people related to, and in the sophomore year, I think the writing has become more complex, more interesting," she said backstage. "It's such a fun role to play, I'm so grateful to have this job let alone be recognized for it and have people watch. It's an embarrassment of riches and I feel very lucky."

While she will always be remembered as "ER's" Nurse Carol Hathaway (and by us for her turn in "Snakes on a Plane"), she fondly recalls the first job that made her eligible for her SAG card.

" Steven Seagal's 'Out for Justice.' I played a hooker with a heart of gold, which is what you do in a Steven Seagal movie. I made $2,000, I remember," she laughs. "I've come a long way. Now my husband sleeps with them apparently."
