Sandra Bullock may join 'Annie' remake as Miss Hannigan after rejecting first offer

sandra-bullock-boston-the-heat-gi.jpg Sandra Bullock may be adding movie musical star to her list of accomplishments if she follows through on early talks to join the upcoming remake of "Annie."

The filmmakers -- including producers Will Smith, Jay-Z and Jada Pinkett-Smith and director Will Gluck -- are hopeful Bullock will agree to play villainous Miss Hannigan, after the Oscar-winning star of "The Blind Side" initially rejected their offer.

The Wrap reports that Bullock is now back in play for the role. She would join a stellar cast that already includes Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis ("Beasts of the Southern Wild") as Annie and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx as the Daddy Warbucks-esque Benjamin Stacks.

Miss Hannigan is a juicy role for any actress, and Bullock's comedic strengths and willingness to play against type could work well if the deal works out. Carol Burnett played Hannigan in the 1982 film version, while Jane Lynch has the part -- and earned a spotlight at the Tonys -- in the musical's current Broadway revival.
