Sarah 'Fergie' Ferguson to Oprah: Royal wedding snub was 'quite right'

oprah-fergie.jpg Sarah Ferguson -- aka "Fergie" -- the ex-royal who was once married to Britain's Prince Andrew and gave birth to two daughters, one of which would eventually grab her 15 minutes of fame with a well-placed outrageous hat, tells Oprah Winfrey it was "quite right" she wasn't invited to the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

"I felt that I ostracized myself by my behavior, by the past, by living with all the regrets of my mistakes," Ferguson tells Oprah in an interview set to air Wednesday (May 11). "That I sort of wore a hair shirt and beat myself up most of the day thinking and regretting why did I make such a mistake?"

"It was so difficult," Ferguson says. "Because I wanted to be there with my girls and to -- and to be getting them dressed and to go as a family."

Instead of being on hand at Westminster to prevent any wardrobe-related gaffes committed by her offspring -- the princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, Ferguson spent the day halfway around the world in Thailand.

Ferguson's new series, "Finding Sarah," is set to premiere on the Oprah Winfrey Network in June.
