Scott Foley lands 'True Blood' gig, but what about 'Grey's Anatomy'?

scott-foley-550.jpgIt has been an excellent week for Scott Foley fans.

No, J.J. Abrams didn't finally admit that Noel was way better than Ben, though we're still holding out hope for some retroactive closure. (Yeah, "Felicity" ended nine years ago... what? What's your point?)

First of all, Foley joined Twitter. You can follow him at @TheScottFoley, as confirmed by "Felicity" co-star Greg Grunberg. He's still figuring it out, but he did take some time to re-tweet congratulations to Busy Phillips for her Critic's Choice Award for her work on "Cougar Town," which Foley recurred on in its first season.

Now, TVLine reports that Foley will guest star on "True Blood" this season, as Patrick, a "tough and ruggedly attractive" buddy of Terry's (Todd Lowe) from his army days. ( Translated into WB-speak: OMG, Noel from "Felicity" and Zack from "Gilmore Girls" are totally friends!!!!!!!!!!!) The role is described as "pivotal." No word yet on whether or not it will require the use of a modesty sock, but really... who on "True Blood" hasn't gotten naked?

The good news continues -- Foley's "True Blood" gig is not expected to interfere with his return to "Grey's Anatomy" as the best thing to happen to the show in years Dr. Altman's husband-turned-love-interest. Yes, it happened in that order. While there hasn't been any official confirmation from ABC that Foley will be back, his "True Blood" shooting schedule doesn't overlap with the "Grey's" cast returning to Seattle Grace, and Shonda Rhimes has said that she has plans for Henry and Teddy this season.

Now, because you can, watch Noel Crane get slapped by Tyra Banks. Just trust us.
