'Scrubs' new set! Zap2it gets a first look

SonalShah.jpgThis time next week, the verdict will be in.

Whether or not "Scrubs" 2.0 -- or "Scrubs: Med" or "The College Years" or whatever you want to to call it -- measures up to the eight seasons of comedy that preceded it will have been decided by you, the viewers.

Many of us TV critic types who got an early look at the first episodes -- which air Tuesday, Dec. 1 on ABC -- have already made our decision. The consensus is we're into it.

Why?

Because it's still funny.

And I'm not just saying that because creator Bill Lawrence made my life by putting me on the show last year. Let's be honest, I was all up in his business long before that ever happened. No, I'm saying so because Bill and his team have truly managed to recreate the series, holding on to so many of the insane elements that made its first eight years great, but putting a fresh face on it at the same time.

Well, three fresh faces actually. The new class of kids will join Dr. Cox, Turk, J.D., Kelso and mean Denise (aka Jo), at a new and improved Sacred Heart Hospital, which has been rebuilt on a med school campus.

Recurring character Sunny Dey (Sonal Shah) was cool enough to give us a behind-the-scenes tour of the new set.

Take a look...
