Sean Bean back to TV in TNT's 'Legends,' replaces Brendan Fraser

sean-bean-gi-320.jpg Sean Bean is returning to TV as the star of TNT's drama pilot "Legends."

Executive produced by "Homeland's" Howard Gordon, "Legends" follows the adventures of Martin Odum (Bean), an undercover agent with an unparalleled ability to completely transform his identity for every new job.

Brendan Fraser was originally cast as Odum but departed the project last month due to "creative differences." No offensive to Fraser, but casting Bean definitely feels like an upgrade to us. Deadline reported the news of Bean's casting.

Bean co-starred with Ashley Judd on ABC's miniseries "Missing" last season, but is best known for his roles as Eddard Stark in Season 1 of "Game of Thrones" and Boromir in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring." He also played the villain in Pierce Brosnan's first James Bond film, "GoldenEye."
