Sean Duffy should get David Obey's seat, form Congress Reality TV Alliance with Scott Brown

sean-duffy-rachel-campos.jpgReality TV already made its stamp when "American Idol" contestant Ayla Brown's father Scott Brown won the Massachusetts U.S. Senate seat vacated by Ted Kennedy's death. But with the retirement of Rep. David Obey of Wisconsin's seventh district -- who is also the House Appropriations Committee Chairman and fourth-longest-serving House member -- another reality show might be joining Capitol Hill -- "The Real World."

Obey has announced that he will not seek re-election in November, leaving the door wide open for the Republican challenger, who is none other than Ashland D.A. Sean Duffy, former "Real World: Boston" cast member and husband to Rachel Campos Duffy of "Real World: San Francisco." The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel calls Sean Duffy a front-runner now that Obey has announced his retirement.
