Former Miss Pennsylvania Sheena Monnin is going to have to pay up after resigning from her position in 2012, claiming the Miss USA pageant was rigged.
According to Monnin, another contestant in the pageant learned who had been decided for the contest's top five finalists hours before the show began. She shared that information on her Facebook account after resigning. The Miss Universe Organization, owned by Donald Trump, filed a lawsuit against the former Miss Pennsylvania, claiming defamation.
In December, an arbitrator ruled in the organization's favor and found that the allegation cost Miss Universe $5 million from a potential sponsor, Fox News reports.
Now, a U.S. District just has upheld the decision. Monnin is also responsible for covering $50,000 in legal fees to the organization. She's accepting donations through her Facebook page to help with the costs.
