Dame Shirley Bassey's voice is iconic, whether you know her name or not. The singer is best known as the voice of several "James Bond" theme songs. The songs "Goldfinger," Diamonds Are Forever," and "Moonraker" are her best known works, but Bassey has been releasing music since 1957.

The LA Times reports Bassey will be making her first Academy Awards appearance this year, taking part in a planned tribute to the "James Bond" franchise. The show's producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, are ecstatic to have her on the show, saying, "Her association with film music is world-renowned and we are proud that she will be making her first Oscar appearance on our telecast."

Bassey joins an impressive list of performers on the show, including Norah Jones, Barbra Streisand, and Adele, who is nominated for her Bond theme song, "Skyfall."

The Oscars take place live, February 24, on ABC. This year's show is hosted by Seth MacFarlane.
