Shirley Jones stands by her Joan Collins foursome claim, as publishers yank the story from her book

joan-collins-shirley-jones-feud-foursome.jpg Joan Collins was not pleased after learning of a segment in Shirley Jones' new book "Shirley Jones: A Memoir" that alleges Collins and Tony Newley once suggested Jones and her husband get naked and watch porn with them at a dinner party in the late '60s.

As previously reported, Collins sent Jones' publisher Simon & Schuster a cease and desist letter after the book was published, demanding a retraction. TMZ reports that Jones and the publisher granted Collins' request and agreed to remove her name from the book.

Collins' rep tells the website that Simon & Schuster has agreed to remove their client's name from Jones' e-book immediately, as well as in all future reprints. "We all make mistakes. I've made a few myself, but not with Mrs. Jones," Collins says. I"m a serial monogamist."

For her part, Jones maintains she's told the truth, though her granting the retraction does seem to deflate much of her argument.
