Singer Gavin DeGraw hospitalized after being assaulted in New York

The singer, best known for his single "I Don't Wanna Be" (the theme song for "One Tree Hill"), has been under observation at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan since the attack, TMZ reports. There's no word yet on what provoked the attack or the extent of his injuries.

DeGraw has been on tour this summer and was in his hometown of New York between a solo show in Scranton, Pa., on Saturday and a date with Maroon 5 and Train in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., scheduled for Tuesday.

"They don't yet know if he will be OK to make the show" on Tuesday, a source close to the singer tells Us Weekly.

Fans have been posting get-well wishes on DeGraw's Facebook page. His last tweet, sent Monday afternoon, mentions an online performance and Q-and-A with fans on Wednesday, but that presumably came from a member of his team and not DeGraw himself.
