'Smallville' flies for a 10th season

The CW announced Thursday (March 4) that it was renewing "Smallville" for a 10th season.

"Smallville," which stars Tom Welling in the retelling of the Superman legend, joins the previously announced "90210," "America's Next Top Model," "Gossip Girl," " Supernatural" and "The Vampire Diaries," all of which are also returning for another season.

"Smallville" moved to Friday nights this season and has been ranked as the No. 1 network TV show in its time period among men 18-34 and men 18-49.
